I think if you cover its cage, it's suppose to stay quiet. I don't know if it's for all types birds.

that's what i'm thinking... it takes some time being around something for a bird to learn it. so that fire alarm must be going off more than a couple times. so either you need to learn to cook or stop being such a fire bug

actually, it only takes once for a bird to hear a sound and they can pick it up if it sounds interesting enough to them

I'm assuming this beautiful bird to the left is who your talking about? I've always wanted a bird. But when I was younger I had a parakette (sp?) and it died attach to the side of the cage. It was crazy. So my parents told me no more birds after that. And my husband won't let me get one because he's scared the cats will get it. We have 2 of the lazyest cats around. They're well trained!! I want a talking bird damn it!!!! Hrmph!!! 
