Unfortunately many states allow employers to fire an employee for any reason, or no reason at all. Legally if she's in one of those states she cannot do anything at all. It's rather messed up. It doesn't even matter. If a boss wants you gone, unless you are a PERFECT employee, it's very easy to find one thing you messed up on and blame it on that. So really you're out of luck, as horrible as it is. I hope you can find a better job, one with a boss that isn't insane.
