Well if you're nice, I don't see any reason for him to be guilty.
Sometimes being “too nice” translates into “being a doormat”. If for instance you agree to everything your boyfriend does and says, and never stand up for yourself, I can understand he broke up with you, because it becomes then too easy to take advantage of you. My husband is the sweetest man ever but knows to tell me to get lost when I deserve it, which is good because I have a slightly controlling temperament. Otherwise, I could end up walking all over him without even noticing. Now, it’s up to you to know if that is the case or if it was a cheap excuse.
You're better off without him, op. He's got far too many emotional issues if you being too nice is troublesome to him. On the other hand, it sounds as if this could be a lame cover for some unknown reason he's too cowardly to admit.
I'll be honest I know how your ex feels x(
It's good to know I'm not the only one! there are at least 3 of us. There could be dozens!
He must have something to feel guilty about
My friend once told me that me being too nice annoys her. Guess you just can't win with people!
YDI but only because you deserve better!

Good, now you can find someone who is just as nice :).
