The fact of the matter being we need to know more information before making any assumptions. Maybe the boyfriend did something to deserve it for all we know. Maybe it was after 12 or whatever time the father approved of being home, and then again maybe the dad truly is crazy and wanted to harm him. We can assume none of this however from the information provided
Why do dads feel this extreme shit is necessary with daughters? Do they want their daughter to never get married? Scaring away every potential long term BF away is a good way to ensure you will remain single and lonely. But at the same time, are proud of their son when he dates. Wth

@85 I can't believe you're actually condoning death threats for missing a curfew. I really understand the guy; better leave when you can. Why would you want to wait for your first argument?
Your dad needs to get some help, OP. That is far from an appropriate reaction and it actually encourages girls to date the wrong men. My parents let me choose for myself. I have only been intimate with one man, and I am STILL with him. My classmate growing up, however, had a dad just like yours...she had three kids before grade 11. From different fathers.
Overly protective fathers.
good way to weed out the ones who aren't worth your time ... way to go dad !

There are worse things in his lap he could have been stroking.
