Sorry but dogs have a good sense of character... your dog will stay with you for up to 15 years and sadly the boyfriend is unlikely to do the same

Your boyfriend is a dick to want your dog put down for his own stupid mistake. He got drunk and mistook the dog for you, which isn't saying much about him. I'd dump him for being so stupid and then for insisting the dog be put down. Put him down instead!

It's not the dog's fault this guy is an idiot. How did he think the dog was going to respond? Putting the dog to sleep for merely defending itself against a morin attack would be amoral, and I sincerely hope you have more sense than that.
