Today, my boyfriend of 2 years decided to tell an unimaginably rude joke to my grandma while at my house. She hit him over the head with a vase, and he's threatening to press charges. I still don't know whose side to take. FML

The problem is not the problem. The problem is your grandmas reaction to the problem. That's the problem.

Well, your boyfriend seems like an asshole for wanting to press charges, however granny didn't need to hit him over the head with a vase. Perhaps everyone can sit down and settle things like adults? Hopefully this will teach your boyfriend to keep his rude jokes to himself!

Well, pressing charges is a bit over-the-top, but then again, so is hitting someone with a vase...

family comes first! unless u think ur grandma is at fault.

The grandma IS at fault. The question is , just how much is she at fault? just HOW rude was the joke? But even if it was the worst , most offensive joke ever , it isn't really acceptable to smash a vase over his head. I thought that only happened on tv

I really want to know what the joke was, though. It must've been funny lol

Boyfriends come and go but family...makes them go. Boyfriend shouldn't be crying over it and just learn his lesson. I pick grandmas side!

Countryrose92 you are one beautiful lady!

So if you were hit on the head with a vase, is grandma still right?

I'm on your boyfriend's side, personally, there are far better possible things she could have done. Not to mention they will probably never get along now.

The boyfriend instigated if by making the joke. He should've kept his mouth shut.

I'd love to know what joke warranted that reaction. My favourite one starts "There once was a man from Nantucket..."

My favourite is: 'what do a gynaecologist and a pizza delivery boy have in common'

They both can smell it but neither can eat it.

#25: My grandmother would probably enjoy that joke. But then again, one time my grandfather was calling the cat saying: "Here pussy pussy", and she walked up and said: "You called?" I thought my grandfather was going to die. I've never seen my mother laugh so hard in her life.

Well, if the vase did damage, she should have been able to send him straight to the hospital. I'm guessing you can ask him then.

I'd take your grandmother's side sense family is first. But your grandmother did handle it wrong tho your boyfriend shouldn't have told a rude joke like that.

Your boyfriend must've really offended your grandmother for her to react so violently. If the situation works out before it escalates too far, be sure to in future hide all sharp objects during gatherings and have your boyfriend avoid any joke telling.

Take your grandmother's side or you might be next!

Boyfriends are replaceable.. Grandma's however are not!
