I'd press charges on the grandma, maybe a restraining order as she apparently lifts ;)
He wants to press charges against an old lady for hitting him on the head when he deserved it? What a little bitch lol.
The key factor here being that he in no way deserved it. A rude joke ≠ a hit over the head with a ******* VASE. He has every right to press charges. If the grandmother had told the boyfriend a rude joke and he had hit her over the head with a vase, would she "deserve it"? Of course not. Boyfriend's head would be on a platter, and he would end up in prison. Same if a 20 year old offended a 20 year old and he hit him in the head with a vase. You're goddamned right that charges would be pressed. Being old doesn't excuse you from the law, dumbass.
Do u really think he has the money for lawyer, court fees, etc? Prolly not unless he's a spoiled shit, but he sure acts like one... The dumbass should know better
I think I'd have to know what the joke was to know which button to press for this FML.
This fml was on here months ago
"unimaginably rude joke" "don't know whose side to take" cmon op, stand up for your principles, if you agree with your grandma that the joke was rude, then take her side, you shouldn't have a bf who thinks its appropriate to say and/or do anything they think is funny
Even if the grandma assaulted her boyfriend, which is illegal by the way.
legally he probably had the right to say that so she's in the wrong here.
What happened to respect your elders? I mean why in the hell would you tell a rude joke to your girlfriends grandmother? I fully support what grandma did! I don't care if they had been dating 2 months or 2 years, you just don't do it. It shows such a lack of class!
And hitting him over the head with a vase shows both a lack of judgement and control.
In the 70's-80's when I was growing up, had anyone even thought about telling someone's grandma a rude joke you'd be lucky if getting hit with a vase was all you received. That's the problem with this generation, there's a lack of respect for elders and no one taking responsibility for their actions. He deserved it. Period.

The problem is not the problem. The problem is your grandmas reaction to the problem. That's the problem.
Well, your boyfriend seems like an asshole for wanting to press charges, however granny didn't need to hit him over the head with a vase. Perhaps everyone can sit down and settle things like adults? Hopefully this will teach your boyfriend to keep his rude jokes to himself!
