In this overpopulated and immoral society, where we are shooting people up, and doing all sorts of crazy things, I don't think a person- man or woman- should be punished or ridiculed for being overly moral. What's the worst that can happen? *gasp* He doesn't have kids until marriage or at all? HOW TERRIBLE!! Look, if OP wants to hold hands publicly and this guy is too moral to want to do that? She shouldn't be dissing him publicly, you guys shouldn't be dissing him... OP should find a less classy boyfriend, and the boyfriend should continue his search of the ultimately classy/conservative girl. End of story Like some said, hand holding isn't unclassy in and of itself, it's just that they weren't married and it was in public, perhaps early on in their dating (first or second date may be too early to some people for that). Don't grill this guy for being a moral good guy. Notice he didn't touch her when he got angry- so he's not your neighborhood Chris Brown or whatever. He just broke up with her because he didn't like the action she did. ITS HIS RIGHT. Women and men both do it all the time, dump somebody over something, and often its for much more shallow reasons- find out the womans boobs were really a stuffed bra, or that the man has a small dong.
