The only reason this isn't a YDI is because you were hit with the coke and not your fiance. People did not come to the theater to listen to some ******* random guy profess his undying love, romantic as only two people in the room may find it. As someone else said, public proposals are extremely obnoxious, and no one should pay to watch someone make a spectacle of themselves, thereby interrupting the service that's been paid for.
I won't lie - I actually laughed out loud. I probably would have yelled if you'd interrupted my movie, too. Selfish.
To #183 (defiantawakening): What's more selfish than focing 100+ ppl (depending on the size of the theatre) to witness your proposal while holding the movie they paid to watch hostage? If you really think what the guy did was ok, I can't imagine the magnitude of your own sense of entitlement. No one has to put up with anyone else's shit in this world. You want people to care? Start by not being selfish yourself and being as unobtrusive as possible. Tell me something, when someone proposes at a restaurant, do waiters come out and take away everyone else's dinner plates until the proposal is over? Let me guess "OMG you'll have your plate back in a moment stop whining! These people are getting MARRIED!".... Yeah...I thought so.
#192 - What's more selfish than that? Throwing a coke at someone's head when it happens. Not going with the flow. Which clearly was the situation. It's a movie, everyone is overreacting. If it were a play that cost more than $10, I'd understand. It's not someone else's "shit" - proposals are a beautiful thing, and for someone to be as selfish as to throw a drink at someone when someone got proposed to instead of them, that says a lot about our society. Would you be happy if someone threw a drink at your head, given you were in the situation? When someone proposes at a restaurant, it's an entirely different method of proposal. It wouldn't require that. Yeah, I thought so. :]
Lol thas funny xD Once, me and my sister were throwing popcorn at the 2 old men that were below us..one of them was alseep and he woke up lmao xD funny shiiit!! x]
wat was ur fiance thinking??? thats the worst proposal ever! so unromantic
Actually, the drink is too much, that's physical assault. But the guy still had no place inconveniencing everyone for his proposal. Proposals are nice to witness when they're not inconveniencing you. If it's selfish not to wait 2 min for someone to propose, then how selfish is it to FORCE 100+ people to wait 2 minutes for your proposal? Either way you look at it, the guy had no right to stop the film and impose his proposal on everyone there. If you propose at a play, you're not gonna stop a scene in the middle to get down on one knee. If you propose at a concert, you're not gonna pull the plug on the band mid-song so you can propose. So why would you shut down the movie in the middle and expect everyone to be fine with it? He should've proposed either before or after the movie started. Simple as that.
Your fiance is a prick. I'm glad the moment was ruined, and although it wasn't your fault, your boyfriend deserved for that to happen. People already have to contend with cell phones, annoying teenagers, and god knows what else; the last thing anyone needs is the movie being ruined so some idiot can propose. I'm a pretty passive person, but I probably would have whipped something too.
YDI for interrupting the movie. I would have thrown things at you too.

Well, it is kind of rude to interrupt the movie for other people. I know I would get made if the movie I pair for suddenly stopped in the middle so some guy I don't know could propose.
Who would even think of interrupting a movie to propose? Dumbest idea ever. Plus getting down on one knee in a movie theater? Ewwwwwwww. Those floors are nasty.
