Today, my friend decided to come clean to his parents about his pot usage. He told them that he did it with me on many occasions. His parents decided it would be the right thing to call my parents. Thanks a lot asshole. FML

"I broke the rules and got caught waaaah FML!!" Seriously, grow up. Regardless of your views on marijuana, if you are young enough that your parents knowing is an issue, YDI for disrespecting them.

53-nobody cares if you're "popular and a heartthroob". In fact, when people always brag and say they're beautiful, it pisses everybody off. I don't brag about how I look so stfu! OP-YDI for smoking pot-even if you think it's fine, wait until you get arrested!

YDI, not for smoking pot. I have no problem with that. go on your merry way. :) But YDI because if you really cared what your parents think you wouldnt do something you know they dont approve of. Also, not cool of your friend to rat you out. But you're an idiot for smoking pot and complaining about getting caught. It's illegal in most places. At least it wasnt the cops who caught you. You dont want to get caught dont do it, or at least dont let others know you're doing it. That goes for anything in life. I said basically the same thing when a friend of mine took some pics and got them all over the internet. It's her fault for giving them to someone else. Your fault for getting caught. Dont give that info out and you'd be fine. Silly.

That really sucks OP - your "friend" is a dumbass for narking on you. He could have come clean to his parents very easily without using your name. And to all the close minded, uniformed idiots out there: I've been smoking since I was 14. I had a 4.0 in high schooland was a member of the national honor society and played basketball. I'm in a very good college right now, am in the honors program, and have a 3.8. Not everyone who smokes pot is a waste of life. It helps my asthma, helps with my anxiety, and helps me concentrate. Oh, and I am definately not fat. Try getting your heads out of you asses sometimes and have a lil fun in life. You only live once.

what a little bitch I think I'll go hit some bong now..

you'll thank your friend one day.

I am so disappointed right now having seen the idiot's commenting on this. "YDI for being a worthless pothead." "YDI for doing drugs." Are you kidding me right now? I figured it was common sense at this point that marijuana-even with excessive usage-is non-addictive, nor lethal, nor substantially detrimental to a person's health other than your random case of paranoia and lazy-ness issues, in which case it is easily avoidable anyways. As for legality issues, I would be wasting my time trying to prove the point anyways. Do some research, tools. Please note that medical marijuana is now offered in tons of places, and how many people's lives it has enhanced positively. Don't believe stereotypes, more people smoke weed than you would believe. I myself smoke often and am doing great. I'm in good shape, have a wonderful circle of friends (who smoke as well, no fat losers there), no problem finding a job, graduated with high honors from school... This ignorance is foul, take a hit and stfu.

Agreed. With all these comments, is no one reminded of that 1950's propaganda movie about how "marijuana makes people CRAAA-ZZZY~!". Too young? Damn. I wouldn't waste your breath trying to tell these kids the truth about pot. They've all grown up with the right-wing propaganda crap spewed from FOX; "STOP! THINK!" and "RISE ABOVE".

@ #96 I completely agree. Although I don't smoke cigarettes or marijuana or drink (or... do anything at all), I don't understand why smoking pot is viewed as so bad and illegal when drinking and smoking cigarettes (while not good for your health) is viewed as okay and legal.

#98 - yeah! Reefer Madness, right? I haven't seen the original film but my friend was in a play that was written as a spoof of that movie. It was hilarious btw and I highly suggest watching it if given the opportunity.

Doing drugs is a terrible idea....for many reasons.... coming from people on the street (usually) you never know exactly what you're getting(like in the hangover haha) Also am I the onley one that heard of stories where people kill themselves because their on drugs (one that stuck with me most is a girl who thaught she could fly and jumped off a building, she couldn't fly) And lastly to the person who said people who hate on drugs also hate on guns....totally wrong I hunt and if used correctly guns can be a fun and safe hobby plus u said it was designed to kill humans....wth??? I'm fairly sure(correct me if I'm wrong) that guns were first used for hunting, now some guns are made for that but most are for target or hunting.....

I do not smoke weed, nor consume it in any way, shape or form. But I can say this much; marijuana in itself is not nearly as dangerous a substance as (as many other posters have stated) tobacco or alcohol. True, it's often laced with MUCH more dangerous drugs and substances (which I'm sure is where many of the anti-pot people are coming from), but pure marijuana is largely safe. It's not nearly as destructive as, say, alcohol. People get drunk and many fly into uncontrollable rages or get down into depressive ruts; it breeds unpredictability. When most people smoke pot, they mellow out and become much more easygoing, far less prone to potentially harmful unpredictability. As several has said, medicinal marijuana has greatly improved the lives of many. All I'm saying is that weed is not inherently evil as so many of you like to tout. I know many potheads, some of which have great jobs and outstanding grades and a few who are on the opposite side of the spectrum, but often because of different reasons. There's more to a person than whether or not they smoke pot, and before crying out 'YDI' and declaring them a "useless piece of shit" (as many so eloquently put it), take into account other factors or just judge the FML for what it is - a friend ratting OP out.
