Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because I didn't call her in the last few days. I tried to explain to her that I was out at my grandfather's house in a remote place with no cell service to stand by him on his death bed. She thought I was making excuses and called me a lying bastard. FML

If I didn't hear from my boyfriend for a number of days I'd be pretty upset. If your grandfather lives in a remote location with no cell service one would assume that it takes some time to drive there. You couldn't have called or texted her along the way to give her a heads up? Granted, I wouldn't assume you were making excuses or call you a lying bastard. But I would be a bit upset. ALSO, where in this post does it say the GF dumped him, or that he dumped her? For all we know this was just a fight and they are still together.

Honey, if she doesn't trust you now with proof, it won't get any better. You might want to consider dating someone who isn't so immature and insecure. You can't fix that, only she can. If you stick with her, it will only get worse. Been there and done that and got the T-shirt.
