Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because I didn't call her in the last few days. I tried to explain to her that I was out at my grandfather's house in a remote place with no cell service to stand by him on his death bed. She thought I was making excuses and called me a lying bastard. FML

you probably were lying. i don't blame her, and YDI for not letting her know before you went what you were going to be doing. there is no point being in a relationship if you cant communicate and talk every day, and if you cant handle that, you shouldnt be with her. you could have called her before you went to see your grandfather. asshole

I had an ex like that too. I would hang out with her all day, had to lull her to sleep (I was 16 in high) and then I would have to drive home. She also requested that I called her when I got home from the 5 minute drive. When I did, she got angry that I woke her, and when I didn't, she would call me crying in the middle of the night. this was every day. even school nights.
