Maybe you should suggest you get divorced for "single purposes"!
For? I have my own ideas what he could try to hide, but you could stand to finish your thought.
As others have said it could be beneficial financially.
Aaaaand that is one of many reasons I will never get married. I hope everything works in your favor.
If he is willing to dump you for that, you need to dump HIS ass!
Just don't file joint tax return.
I'm never getting married again for that reason.
Either he is trying to be funny or he's just a dick. I hope it's the first one.
that's sad.
It's like people who have babies before taxes
FYI divorce is expensive and you have to live separately for one year before it is final. Either the husband isn't to smart or he really wants a divorce for reasons other than a little tax break. I'd really like to see a follow up on this one.
Sorry sunshine you live in the wrong state. Where I live it takes 90 days and you can live together right up to the proceedings and then go home and shack up. $300 total cost.
In Florida, they try and make you take marriage counseling and you have to be separated. Only then will they grant the divorce if you truly can't reconcile the marriage... And yes it's still expensive.

So then after taxes you get married again? You could make this a yearly thing.
I know of couples who are "separated", but live in the same house for tax breaks. Just another way to beat the system I guess.
