Okay, I can understand this FML. You don't want someone walking into your house and it's extremely messy, etc no matter who it is. Would a cleaning lady want to work in a house that hasn't been cleaned in weeks because of a lazy homeowner? I sure as hell wouldn't want to. That's pure laziness.

Everyone does that! People don't mind letting maids think they are a bit messy, but they wouldnt want them to think they are complete slobs. You should see the ordeal I have to put myself through before I go for my anal bleaching!

I don't think he was trying to be sexist, even though it did come out sounding that way, I think he was just trying to say some women think differently than some men, when it comes to stuff like.

Not really, he was probably going off of the fact that the mom is a women, so hints the "women's logic," it's obvious not all women are like that, so I don't think he meant it as a sexist remark, I also think people should stop using sexism as an excuse for such a simple comments like this, the terms "sexist" and "sexism" get used to lightly so in the end everything someone says could be looked at as sexist.

But "women" is plural. Therefore he wasn't refereeing to just the OP's mother. And if he was trying to, then it wasn't obvious. The fact that she is a woman shouldn't make a difference, so there is no need to refer to her as "woman" anyways. The comment doesn't make sense in any other way than the way it was intended. That being nothing other than yet another unnecessary sexist attempt at humour.

My mom does the same thing! It makes entirely no sense. She always tells us the clean the house before the cleaning lady gets here....wut? Why hire her then?

I would be the same way. We don't have cleaning lady money, but when we stay at a hotel I keep the room clean and make the beds. I don't want the hotel people talking about me.
