Today, my parents refused to visit me at college because "the flights are too expensive." They are currently shopping for a new car to replace my mother's two-year-old Porsche. FML

Whats wrong with parents these days? >_>

#7 - the time and money they could've used to visit their child at college was put to replacing a car that's barely old. i don't think it's right, i think it's selfishness on the parents' side.

your first problem is you want your parents to visit you in college. party. you'll see them soon enough.

Dr Phil here. Your parents obviously value money over relationships. I also believe that they do not love you.

at least you have enough money to go to college.

they better be handing that Porsche down to you.

So lets get this straight - your parents are paying your tuition, your food, your clothing, your air travel to and from home on breaks. And all you can do is whine that they aren't flying to visit you between the breaks they oay your airtravel home for? If you wanted to spend that much time with them why did you leave home in the first place? There are colleges you could have went to and still lived at home. Unless you are a spoiled rich brat with no sense of reality this is nothing to even consider whining about. Your parents you should be posting their FML here about their ungrateful little brat who thinks everything must be about her with no consideration for anyone else

On the one hand, your parents are wealthy and presumably paying for all your stuff.... on the other, they don't care enough to visit you. Ahhh, you win some and you lose some. Make some good friends. #26: **** off, some people actually like to have a good education AND a relationship with their parents. Nothing unreasonable about that, as long as the OP gets over the fact that he'll probably only get a chance at the former.

Who actually knows if this person's parents are paying for their college? Lots of parents make their kids work to pay off college loans... and there's nothing wrong with wanting to see your parents and spend time with them, it's hard being away from your family for a long time...

I'm assuming that if you chose a college that's far away enough that your parents need to take a plane to go see you...you wanted to get away from them in the first place. Sure, you're going to miss them, but you'll see them soon enough. Isn't it going to be Spring Break soon? Why don't you go see them? Wait it out. If they're replacing a Porsche, I'm assuming it's going to be with an even nicer car that they'll probably let you drive if you ask nicely. Sounds pretty fair to me. So suck it up.

You can wish that your parents would visit you in one hand & take a crap in your other hand, see which hands fills up 1st.
