Today, six years after hurricane Katrina took everything from me, I received a letter in the mail from FEMA telling me that I have to repay them the money I received to replace what was lost. I have 30 days to repay $4,900 or the case will be sent into federal debt collection. FML

Who says they gave it to him. Clearly, if they're asking for it back, it was some sort of loan. People don't read the contracts that they sign.

Now this story sucks, I feel bad for OP, and that is absolutely unacceptable, but the people that are bashing the government as a whole are ignorant in my opinion. There's a lot of things that the government does right for you, and you really don't have reason to complain. America is a great country. Respect it.
