Today, the Jehovah's Witnesses were at my door. Normally I don't give them the time of day, but I was so lonely for company, I let them in. FML

sure, but you say they leave at a young age, people leave because when they're young they think of church as a boring place, it's not right for some one that young to go to church and I'll tell you why, they don't think anything special about only that it's boring, someone shouldn't go to to church becuase they have to or they're afriad of going to church, but should be going for comfort, peace of mind, etc. while you're young you want to play with friends and do things you don't want to be at a church even if it is only for an hour

I messed up up there should be afraid of going to "hell"

I grew up going to 'church' for about all togesther 5 hours/3 days a week. ya it was alittle boring but now as a teen I apreciate it completely. it's not boring anymore

that's in your case though other people may be way different ofcourse if it help you or you find interesting then I respect it, but I don't like when people try to convert others

Well, by "a relatively young age," I meant around 12-13, when most kids start growing up a little bit. I can't speak for anyone else, obviously, but I didn't grow disillusioned with the church because I found it boring. After I told my (extremely traditional Baptist) pastor about my beliefs concerning reincarnation, he called me a heretic and told me I needed to do penance by cleaning the church before and after all three services the next week. My point being, whatever the age, most "free thinkers" usually leave the church after they start to ask the hard questions about life, and examine things from a more logical perspective.

I think leave becuase they just can't find the right answers in that religion. my opnion I'm not sure why though, I'm an excatholic and I think I have better chances of finding answers wether helpful answers or not in the studies of science

nothing matters when it comes to numbers, in the end only one religion or science would be proven right
