Today, I was taking a selfie. My grandma saw me, then after smirking to herself, she went and told my parents that I was "doing that sexting thing". They believed her and grounded me, even after I showed that all my photos and sent messages were totally innocent. FML

your username, wtf? that aside, try returning the favour and frame her for something?

OP believes her grandma is an old hag, and wishes death upon her. Pretty straightforward, really.

I wouldn't really want to call her an old hag, then again I'm not the one who got grounded.

thats a silly reason youd wish someone to die. on a different note, your parents are butts if they wont listen after you explained and showed them the pics/texts. some parents are just "jump to conclusions, even with proof" types. good luck.

What else does Grandma have to entertain her? This is the sorta thing that makes good memories, just return the favour

Grandma could be a total bitch who makes OP's life hell at every opportunity. Sadly not all grandmothers are good ones.

Oh yeah, I agree with 45. I had one of those. She's gone now but the bad memories I have make me still resent her. It's ok OP, I'm sure you have many reasons. Good luck.

Agreed, 45. My paternal grandmother point blank told my brothers and I that she hated us and that she never wanted us to be born, and made it her goal to make us as miserable as possible until the died. Unfortunately, she lived until she was 107, so we had quite a few torturous years with her. Not all grandparents are the loving doting type.

#1 I'm just waiting for you to reply with song lyrics.

Of course, the crime that would be appropriate to this suggest would be prostitution.

61- I agree!! My grandpa and step grandpa were very horrible to me. My step grandpa is dead but my paternal grandpa is still alive. Every word that comes out of his mouth is an insult to me.

There's no telling where he was at when he took the selfie.

Usually selfies are taken in the bathroom or bedroom...so it seemed like a valid point

I like takin my selfies in the front entry way because the lighting is fantastic in there.. My bedroom and bathroom are both way too dim.

Your selfie game may be strong, but her Grandma game isn't.

Must have been a really sexual selfie...

7: I don't see how selfies could possibly be obnoxious. They do not in why way negatively affect you or anyone around you. At worst they're silly.

#67 of course you don't see a problem, your profile pic is a selfie.

#67-Well, it depends. An occassional selfie I can bear. It gets obnoxious when the person is doing it as though their life depended it on it. It's abhorable when the person does it in the middle of a conversation.

Yeah, once in a while is bearable, but don't do it so often that you can't even communicate with other people. I have a friend who does it while hanging out...

A friend of mine is so bad at taking selfies (pics in general even) that her photos of a friends bachelorette had more pics of her than the bride!

My ex used to take selfies all the time in Walmart. We would just walk down the frozen aisle and he's like "selfie in the frozen department. :D -peace sign-". Needless to say selfies annoy me to no end. They are pretty obnoxious...

I'm not sure who coined the phrase 'selfie' but the word is extremely more obnoxious than the act itself. People have been taking pictures of themselves since the invention of cameras. Everything we do nowadays has to have a name or phrase or hash tag. To me, this is more obnoxious than taking a picture.

literally. a selfie is just a picture that you take take of yourself. Yes some are obnoxious but come on, taking a picture of yourself is not a crime

Never said it was a crime. Just obnoxious. Being obnoxious isn't a crime, sadly. And its more the mentality behind selfies that I can't stand as opposed to the act itself.

The selfie game is strong with this one.

Selfie texting = sexting.. I think I see where she's confused.

True I can see how a grandma might think that.

#9 You have shed some light onto this mistake for me. I did not put those two words together. OP;Then again your grandma could just be one of those caniving old ladies we hear about

Hey #9, that reminds me of a grandma who butt dialed her granddaughter then said "I'm sorry, I must have booty called you by accident."

nlm92 15

Lol #48 that also reminds me of when my grandma bought me a shirt in grade 7. It had a comical monkey face on it and it said "touch my monkey". She thought it meant people would poke the shirt...

My money is on the conniving old lady theory. Besides, for the idea it was just an innocent misunderstanding of 'sexting' to work, she would first have to grasp the concept of a selfie, and I pray to His Noodliness that the vile, narcissistic activity hasn't yet reached the mainstream attention of our beloved geriatrics...

Just explain to grandma the difference and she should reason with your parents. If not then granny's a bitch.

Thing is I'm pretty sure she knew what she was doing because she smirked, or maybe I just interpreted the FML wrong.

Selfies take a matter of ten seconds…op could be mid sentence and take one

Are you joking? In what world does having a phone and taking a 'selfie' imply that you don't visit/talk to your grandparents? Also,if I was sure my grandmother intentionally framed me for things I didn't do,I wouldn't want to talk to her regardless of whether I have a phone or not.

My grandmothers evil at her core, **** your idea of spending time with someone just because they're old and you're related. I spend time with people I respect and want to surround myself with.

Fo guck yourself Blake that's 20 dislikes on your opinion turning it to shit

SwtCherryPie 26

My point is, if this person is like most people these days, they probably barely look up from their phone long enough to acknowledge anyone at all. Grandma may just want to spend time with her, and since her phone is (possibly) such priority she did something drastic to force her off her phone. You or I don't know the full story, but I do know we're only getting a teenager's side of the story.

Even if OP's grandma wanted to speak to her,it's still low to turn OP's parents against her for something she didn't do. If the grandma wanted to talk to her granddaughter this badly she should have asked her in a polite way. Regardless of whether she did or didn't ask,she shouldn't force anyone to speak to her if they don't want to,in my opinion. If I was the OP I'd be mad at my parents more than I would be mad at my grandma for possibly assuming I'm wrong merely because of my age, rather than having proof that justifies the grandma's words.

I love how you say "we only know one side" and then you accuse OP of being a technology absorbed teenager. 1) she wasn't sexting 2) therefore the grandma was wrong. It doesn't matter whether or not she is always on her phone
