Today, I thought it would be a great idea to tell my coworker to calm down when he appeared to be very uptight. He thought it would be a great idea to punch me right in the face. FML

Though he didn't deserve the punch in the face, telling someone to calm down isn't helping. If the co-worker was enraged or stressed, dealing with issues and asking what you can do is helpful.

Exactly! Telling a person to calm down when they're stressed is just stupid and thoughtless. I can understand wanting to punch someone for that.
