Customers from hell

Today, a customer gave me hell because a high-spec game he bought wouldn't run on his ancient Windows XP PC. I ended up having to profusely apologize and refund him. Whoever coined the phrase "the customer is always right" should probably be shot, run over by a bus, then shot a few more times. FML

I once had to give a customer a refund on an item I apparently "didn't put in the bag" when working in retail. I saw her take it out of the shopping bag on her way out the door.

Had a customer look at the then new Baja Blast Mountain Dew, and ask for a large Banjo Blast Mountain Dew.

For me, games have been the cause for most upgrades, ever since MYST came out in the 90s and my pc wouldn't run it because it had only one MB of RAM and the game required 4 MB.

We had a all computer game sales is final at my electronics store. we would give them a lesson on looking at game specs. sorry you had to go through that. signs posted reminding customers to check the specs and sales are final will end that debate.

Consumer law in Australia is great since change of mind doesn't entitle you to refunds which means if people buy games/movies and discover they can't use it the store isn't required to refund. Most stores won't take them back anyways due to piracy, especially games where serials may have been used but the physical copy returned: makes them a brick for the next person.

So I'm guessing that fallout 4 isn't going to run on my old 100Mhz 486 PC?... Damnit! I demand a refund!

Yeah my hex-core Athlon FX doesn't meet the recommended specs, though it's above minimum. 6x3.8ghz

He should've read the minimum specs required info of that game first before buying! caveat emptor!

Tell him his dinosaur's warranty is expired and he should trade it up for an upgrade before it turns on him and he loses all his saved data.

The customer is always right, unless the customer is an asshole!

I have always said that everyone should be forced to work a customer service job for a minimum of 1 year. Can you imagine how much nicer the world would be, if that was the case.? People don't seem to understand that we have a lot of options to help them out, but if you"attack" me, I will not go out of my way to help you!

Makes sense as a means of instilling compassion into the spoiled masses. Only problem is that for those like me who already have a passionate distaste of the human race, it won't do much good.

I can definitely agree to that #23. I used to work in retail and didn't mind helping someone with a genuine problem. But once their attitude got out of hand or they started yelling in the hopes of getting something then I'd be as unhelpful as possible while still within the law.

So witcher 3 isn't supposed to work on windows 95? God damn it, my plans are ruined now :/
