Today, I swam in a race against all of the girls in the midwest in the hardest, longest, most grueling race you can swim. I won. Happy but so tired I could barely move, I looked up to see my time. I had been disqualified. For flinching. Before the race started. FML

How is that grounds for disqualification? And shouldn't they have told you before the race started that you were disqualified?

this actually is an fml. i'm sorry, that really sucks. don't let it weigh you down though, it'll only make you feel bad in the long run. :/

You were racing against every single girl in the midwest? That's quite the race.

OH MY GOSH!!! THAT SUCKS I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. :(

Those are the rules. Like the swimmer from Korea in the 2008 Summer Olympics, he got disqualified for flinching. All I can say is: Rules are rules. The good part is, that you and everyone else knows that you won, and that you got a good time, and had a great experience, KNOWING you won against all of them.

#25 and #26 You're both faggots. Just sayin.

Thank you #18 for all of us who don't swim. That sucks. Did ya at least call a re-due? Better luck next time..I'm sure you will show them next time.

damn, that sucks i'm sorry, especially because it's a 500/1650 i assume? @ all non-swimmers: you get DQed if you are not completely still before start and no there are no re-dos, if this happened at national championships you are completely screwed and one man can DQ an entire relay as well. also before, they used to let you know that you were DQed by signaling you in the water after the race started. now, they let you swim your entire race and then tell you. it's horrible.

#28, so you expect her/him to see a DQ light when their face is head first in the water....You're stupid.

#35: this is the definition of ******: ornament or join (fabric) by ****** stitch; "He fagotted the blouse for his wife" Im bound/joined by no fabric. So find some new insults, IDIOT. Just saying.

What? Flinching? You mean jumping the gun/doing a false start? Anyway, that sucks ass! Shouldn't they have told you right after you did it, and said that you're disqualified, or do they just enjoy crushing people's joy?
