Today, I got my first tattoo. When I showed my boyfriend, he asked where I got the design. I told him I saw it in a sketch book of his. He designed it for his last girlfriend, who got it in the same place. FML

I'm sorry, but this is freaking hilarious!!! You should've thought to ask him about it first. I mean, it is his work. I have no artistic talent, but if I did, and someone took one of my drawings and used it as a tattoo without my permission, I'd be a little upset

THAT is why you don't get a tattoo unless you WANT to. As you said, you cannot think of something you want on your body for the rest of your life. Does that mean people who can think up something or have things that mean something to them have to express themselves like you? I mean, that's narrow minded.

Bitch, you ******* -deserve- this. What right do you have to go through his work, WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION, and use one for a tattoo? If my boyfriend used my artwork for a tattoo without my knowledge, I'd be pretty pissed. And that was a gift for his ex-girlfriend -- ******* SHAME on you!

why doesn't anyone address that: "tatoo's are very rarely gotten by anyone with intellectual tendencies, and even people that are very creative and have good thoughts but arent intellectuals dont generally get them." has sooo many errors in it!!! how are they on a high horse when they obviously aren't very bright themselves? and i have a tattoo. i made straight a's in high school and have a 3.5 GPA at the university i go to.

and this is why I only have tattoos that I have designed myself.....or have done on myself I mean come on if it's worth doing you might as well do it yourself. On a slightly unrelated note since everyone is being opinionated about tattoos and now piercings are being called into question what about scarification?

If it means something more than being sad and a teen then yes, they can be beautiful works of art. If you want to do it and its legal and there is a reason behind it, then go for it.
