Today, my fiancée got out of the shower, completely shaved. I went over to her, wrapped her in a hug and asked her what the occasion was. She pulled away and said that she had a gyno appointment. My fiancée will clean up for the gyno, but not for me. FML

It's uncomfortable to go to the gyno in the first place. When you're a girl, there are always so many things you worry about. Cleaning herself down there, might help ease her worries a bit. And so what if she doesn't clean up for you. It means she's comfortable being around you and being herself.

Shaving that area is time-consuming and results in painful and itchy regrowth whatever the razor and however much shaving gel and aftercare you use. Waxing is just as painful. She probably shaved herself for the gyno because she was afraid of being judged, as our culture these days is obsessed with removing natural pubic hair, even though gynos have seen it all. It's just scary showing that to a stranger. Take it as a compliment that she's not afraid of being judged like that by you. :) Pubic hair is a symbol of maturity and can be very sexy. Each person should do with theirs what's most comfortable, be it nothing, trimming, removing some, or removing it entirely.

#99 - the difference between shaving leg and armpit hair and shaving pubic hair is that the former are public and the latter private. Legs and armpits are bared in public and are thus judged by everyone who sees, mostly negatively as it's become the norm for these areas to be shaved. The majority of women will shave these either because they want to, or because they will be ridiculed or looked down upon if they don't. Pubic hair, however, is only seen by lovers, who, I believe, should care enough about their partner that they will respect their personal choices. There is no real need to "get used to it".

Yes missfortune, maybe it is. but that doesnt change a thing. Its still a norm. In Africa, alot of people dont brush their teeth. Its not exactly a norm to them, but we still do it here dont we? yes, becuase its a norm in our culture.

Most people in Africa don't have toothbrushes either. How exactly is it you're expecting them TO brush their teeth? I wasn't refering to the third world countries who don't have the amenities available to them. I would think someone as full of themselves as you could figure somethin that basic out. :s

I'm sure in the plethora of comments that came before mine this point was already made, but it does bear repeating: How on earth are pubes unclean? she didn't clean up for anybody, and she doesn't need to. this was a personal choice. When she asks you to shave your pubes and you do so out of the goodness of your heart then- and only then- do you have the right to complain. Grow up. those are the words of a spoiled little brat.

Vanillafire, I see your logic but seriously. Isnt making your partner happy better for your relationship? Yes, if you dont shave your legs or armpits people will see and judge you, and ur privates are not seen so they wont judge you for that. But the person who should be most important to you will see it. Dont you want to be the best you can be to them?

Ok maybe im coming off as a dick. Ill explain a different point. To guys, pubic hair is annoying and we dont want a nose full when we are eating you girls out. I personally like to please woman and enjoy eating girls out. BUT, I dont want to put my face in pubes. So if you want oral sex, you should do one small thing to make it pleasurable for both of us. I trim up for girls, and i feel if you want me to return the favor, u should clean it up for me too.
