Today, I finally confessed to the guy I've liked for two years. I told him that I've really liked him for a long time, and that I knew he had a girlfriend and I didn't expect anything from him, I just wanted him to know. His response? "Are you done? 'Cause I need to go to the bathroom." FML

Today, after finally having the guts to confess to a guy I have liked for a year now and him saying he also likes me and then asking me out, I went out of my way and traveled 4 hours to meet him. He didn't show up and never apologized. I never heard anything from him. FML

Today, I dressed up nicely to see the guy that I like and have been talking to for the last 3 months. Just when I thought he was finally going to ask me to be his girlfriend, he told me that he's actually had a girlfriend for 3 years now, but was too afraid to tell me because he really likes me. FML

Yeah, you got what you expected. And yeah, it can hurt if he didn't respond the way you wanted. But at least you knew nothing was going to happen between the two of you. And if you were hoping something would... well, that's a pretty bad thing to hope, considering he has a girlfriend. But then, it's also possible that you just didn't want to keep it a secret anymore, and that I can understand. Either way, I don't envy you - it must be pretty awkward between the two of you now. Could be worse - at least you know the outcome. I once had really strong feelings for a guy, I told him at a time when we were both single, and his response was "Thank you," after which we both had to leave immediately for class. I spent the whole day wondering what "thank you" was supposed to mean. It ended up meaning nothing. But from that, I know that when you confess your feelings for a guy, it can create an awkward situation if he doesn't feel the same way, or if he's not available, and if he doesn't already have an excuse to get away he'll probably create one. At least he didn't call you a homewrecker.
