Panic attack

Today, I went to donate blood for the first time. When they stuck the needle in my arm, I had a panic attack and begged that they take it out. The woman helping me told me she'd take it out in a moment and left. It was then that the Red Cross stole a pint of my blood while I had a panic attack. FML

i gave blood in novermber last year and i can faintly remember a clause in all that paperwork that said if at any time you change your mind about giving they will stop the procedure. it sucks that they did that to you. i hope it doesnt deter you from giving blood in the future. its for a good cause. and no. 6 you are a jerk : /

Wow, get over yourself. When I had my kidney out, I was lucky enough I didn't need a blood transfusion. Where was the needle btw, back of your hand, back of your elbow? Try needles in your wrists and then needles into my port, about 2 inches from under my armpit. Every monday (pretty much). YDI for being a pussy. I'm sorry, but you really should see someone about that. Even my 9 year old sister had the flu jab without moaning.

#30 Actually, I'm not from America. South Africa actually. And excuse me if I don't want my blood going to some idiot who decided to rob a place and got shot up by the police, or tried to rape someone and got stabbed with their own knife. And don't say it will never happen because once that blood is out of your body you have no say as to what they do with it. And I do believe that people deserve the right to live. But when they stop giving a shit about the value of other human lives and kill/terrorise people then that's when they lose that right IMO. Your entitled to your choice but when you have seen and heard about half the shit that goes down in Johannesburg then come back and tell me if you still think these people deserve the right to live.

You had a PA, that sucks, but so what? Your elevated BP probably made it go by faster. And no one stole shit, you donated. Whiner. YDI, whatever ¨it" supposedly was.

Yeah, you were just being a little bitch. You know how many people need that blood? And you came to them, said "I have this extra blood I want to give you." then you say "A needle? This was never part of the deal! I'm out of here!" and are mad because they ignore you? They didn't "steal" a pint of your blood. They just didn't let you get out of the promise you made to them about 15 minutes ago.

@49: I'm getting a little tired of seeing "panic attack" too. How many of the posters who have these attacks actually have a diagnosed medical condition, and how many of them are self-diagnosing because "panic attack" sounds so much more legitimate than "I was a wuss", just like overweight people who claim "it's a glandular problem" without any doctor diagnosing it, because they think it sounds better than saying "I have no self-control and I eat too much"?
