Red flag

Today, I went to a neon-themed party. Standing by the UV light, I looked down and realised my pad was glowing through my tights. FML

Women that can't use tampons, women with overly heavy flows, women who prefer them? *shrug* It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round. OP, that really sucks, I know how embarrassing stuff like that can be.

Some girls don't find tampons comfortable, give her a break. But still tights (or leggings) doesn't equal pants, a long shirt doesn't not equal a dress, being orange is not the same as being tan and for the love of God the hair bump looks hideous. Can you tell I hate "fashion"?

Sorry, this one gets a YDI. Not for the absence of a tampon, but for the adsence of PANTS.

In the UK I believe she means LEGGINGS. Which is normal.

tights is not a UK term for leggings, i believe you americans call tights 'pantyhose'..so she wasnt wearing leggings she was wearing pantyhose which most people wear under a dress or skirt that are basically see through..so she deserves it for going out without wearing clothes

i call leggings tights and pantyhose tights... its just a word that has multiple meanings... and the leggings/tights with a long baggy t-shirt and uggs was a huge trend in toronto a few months ago... not so much anymore... btw... it was a themed party.. she had to dress to the occasion

ok maybe in canada but in the UK we just call tights tights and leggings leggings so she meant actual tights....leggings are still fashionable here but i dont think its ever ok to go out just wearing tights...tights are an undergarment!!!

you people are so ******* dumb. obviously she wasn't going out wearing sheer tights. she meant leggings tights. it is not a country-oriented thing, just because you're from canada or britain or america doesn't mean the word you use is universal. plenty of people call leggings tights, all over the place, so just shut up.

don't get snippy with Americans! I knew what she was talking about but leggings are supposed to be worn under dresses and skirts, too. so she deserved it for not wearing actual pants. everyone needs to CHILL OUT.

Awww *hug* I feel really bad. That must have been so embarrassing! :(

@#37 - Some girls have to wear both.

If you have to wear a pad with your tampon then that pretty much makes the tampon worthless. If your going to wear a pad with your tampon just take the tampon out and use the pad it's wastefull to use both and doesn't make sense.

Some girls use it for extra protection when they have really, really heavy flows. PCOS/Endo FTL.

Actually, uh... most women leak with tampons. It makes the flow into the pad much less, so it is probably more comfortable, but there is still some leakage. There are also MANY MANY women who wear pantyliners with tampons just as a precaution.

No one HAS to wear both. They choose to wear both. They could very easily pick a higher absorbency or change it more frequently. If you are going through them that quickly you probably have a medical problem that needs to get checked out.

England is amazing.. even if the dental care is a little sketchy

America sucks. Not least because everyone is fat and stupid.

Man, not all of us are fat. Have you taken a look at our celebrities recently? :)

ALL of us Americans are fat and stupid? Nice sterotyping. I for one am not stupid, and I find your abject disregaurd for an entire country astounding. Also not all Americans are fat. I know so many bulimic/anorexic girls because of sterotypical portrayals of disturbingly thin people as beautiful worldwide. This is like me saying all people from Britain have poor dental care and can't cook. Why don't you learn to get to know people individually instead of perpetuating poor relations between different poeple? It might suprise you how similar everyone is inside despite different cultures, languages, and education levels. We all feel the same things eventually it is what makes us human. Oh, Americans have strong opinions we are not afraid to stand up for, and the freedom to do so. Read a history book, maybe you're still upset about the whole American revolution thing? See I have these values of fairness and equality, they work really well, try it sometime. I jsut cannot stand for harsh comments that are sterotypical and unfair. By the way, every heard of Universities such as Stanford, Brown, Yale, Georgetown, Harvard, Duke, and Priceton? All located in the U.S. Still think we're all stupid? Pads can just be more comfortable for some people. Lets not pretend anything soaked in menstrual blood in any cleaner than anything else soaked in it. Pad, tampon, cup, anything covered in blood = unsanitary and gross. This is coming from a girl. Sorry guys. OP regardless of your style of dress, that really sucks. At least you noticed before someone pointed it out to you? I hope everything turns put all right for you. Things like this are just embarrassing. Every girl has an experience of being embarrased by their period. Any girl should understand, and any guy worth talking to would understand too. I hope you had fun anyway. Life is too short to let a mishap ruin a party you were looking forward to.

Well not all British people have dodgy teeth, have you taken a look at OUR celebrities recently? Oh. Right. I'll shut up now...

In Response To #1: Apparently most people considering all the comments. Tampons are more expensive. My mom bought pads in BUNDLES; so if I am just loungin around the house I will wear a pad. I wear tampons when I leave my house usually.

I don't get why it's a big deal to wear a pad. I switch back & forth depending on how long it may be between bathroom breaks. My mom got TSS from wearing her tampon too long when she was a young adult...gave her some issues and she miscarried like 9 times in a row (that's not a typo or an exaggeration). I decided I didn't want those issues, and stick to pads most of the time. Thought about a divacup...just haven't taken the plunge on that one.

Why the hell has this hole fml turned into an argument about pads v tampons? Seriously, who cares! Each to their own and all that, So just leave people to it. FYL, though, that actually sucks.

ydi for thinking tights = pants, regardless of your decision making skills involving girly hygiene products.

I have to use both a tampon AND a pad. Anyone who thinks YDI for wearing a pad is just displaying their ignorance. I'm tempted to test this glowing pad theory xD
