Well some kids who aren't hit are very disrespectful. Just compare a kid whose from the caribbean to an American one. Totally different levels of manners most of the time. I'm not trying to be stereotypical, but most times it is true.

Spanking is NOT fine, it's a gateway punishment, first you're spanking your kids, next thing you know you're stomping on your kid's hand, then kicking him in the ribs because he cried. The week after that? You throw a battery at him because he made you mad. NO violent punishment is okay.

I got spanked as a kid and it never resulted into that! I learned to respect others and that what my parents said was law. I turned out just fine.

LOL. Yeah, no. My mother whipped me with a belt, a metal spoon, and an extension cord as a kid, but she never even considered injuring me. Not all parents are mentally ill and get a sick thrill from injuring their child.

Rule number one of discipline; if you're pissed and taking it personal, you need to cool off before doing whatever it is you've established as discipline in your household. I can promise you abusers do not do their thing with a cool head. I'll refrain from my ranting about children these days because I know people have already read it by now and I don't want to sound like a broken record, but just know you sound like a ******* moron, 173. Irregardless, no mother should hit their child. Nor should a child give their parent reason to.

Oh please. Don't be such a baby. In a case like this, it's fine. It's only a problem if it results in injury or is done all the time. My mother used to hit me with an extension cord, and I'm perfectly fine.
