Special day

Today, it's my long-anticipated 21st birthday! Today also happens to be the first day of my period. I've spent the whole morning in the fetal position with agonizing cramps, reduced to tears, and whimpering while the painkiller refuses to kick in. Happy birthday! Love, my uterus. FML

Oh honey, I know exactly how you feel. I get them worse than anyone I know. Feel better. =[

Oh goodness, I've had my period (with crippling cramps and nausea) on my birthday pretty much every year since I got my period. It's hell. I know how you feel...it does suck. Oh and #3...I think she means the first day of THIS particular period.

I've only had a high moderate level of pain during my period, and that sucked butt. I can't imagine (read: don't want to) what some women go through month to month. All I can say is I hope it clears up and doesn't last the whole period! :/

uhh why would anyone click "you deserved it??" how the hell does she deserve it?!?

i used to get the shittiest cramps, no sort of painkillers would help. i had to start taking the pill for the sole reason of helping with the cramps. but it seriously worked! i hardly get them at all anymore! happy birthday!

I know exactly how you feel. The day after my 18th birthday, I had crippling cramps, and was reduced to curling up on a couch with a heating pad turned on high, waiting for three ibuprofen to kick in. And even when it did, it only took the pain down from excruciating to moderate/bad. Not fun. For some women, when it hits hardest, it feels like it drags on for HOURS on end. Trust me, I know. You lose your whole day, and sometimes the day after. Just try to shake it off, eat well, and drink plenty of water.

Oh, please. To all the people whining that people who say "suck it up" have obviously never had a period or been in that much pain: check your assumptions. AND your abled privilege. I have spinal neuropathic damage and fibromyalgia syndrome. I'm on narcotic pain meds and not even those cover it *all* the time. Period cramps? And that's all, without endo? Then suck it the hell up. It could be worse. (oh, and FYI? I'm a girl, too, and I *also* suffer from menorrhagia & dysmenorrhea, TMI as that is...)

I know how you feel. I got my period on Christmas Day one year which really spoilt the day and meant that I couldn't go out in the snow that had, by some miracle, fallen that day. It certainly wasn't the best Christmas present I've ever had! *offers sympathy hugs*

its pretty obvious that all the guys are writing the "suck it up" comments. FYI guys YOU HAVE NO ******* IDEA how much cramps hurt. you can pass out and start screaming from them. its litterally a part of you body clenching together uncontroably inside you casing intense nasiating pain.
