You made your first mistake in waiting. You said that he had been staring at you "all night"? Well, with guys and girls alike, the best time to make a move is within the first 10 seconds. They say 3, but I'm going with a grace period of 10, in my experience. More than 10 or 20, though, and it just appears awkwarddd. Second mistake? You assumed that him staring was GOOD. Usually it is, but if he was staring and smiling without actually talking to you, that would weird most people out. And since you said he was hot, he is most likely "cool" as well. And guys who are tight and have any kind of game, know better than to stare and smile at a girl all night, without actually talking to them. IF he was interested, he would have actually semi-ignored you at first, and then started flirting with you as soon as he pretended to "notice" you. That is what works best for me. Guys, give her a break with the poor choice of flirting method.
