I suddenly thought of Dawn from Welcome to the Dollhouse. I'm willing to bet that you are about as awkward and as homely as she is.
You made your first mistake in waiting. You said that he had been staring at you "all night"? Well, with guys and girls alike, the best time to make a move is within the first 10 seconds. They say 3, but I'm going with a grace period of 10, in my experience. More than 10 or 20, though, and it just appears awkwarddd. Second mistake? You assumed that him staring was GOOD. Usually it is, but if he was staring and smiling without actually talking to you, that would weird most people out. And since you said he was hot, he is most likely "cool" as well. And guys who are tight and have any kind of game, know better than to stare and smile at a girl all night, without actually talking to them. IF he was interested, he would have actually semi-ignored you at first, and then started flirting with you as soon as he pretended to "notice" you. That is what works best for me. Third mistake... man this is getting long... you batted your eyes. That was definitely sexy... in the 1950's. This is what year again? Oh yeah, 2009. Not fresh. Nobody does that anymore. So brush up on your flirting skills and next time do something that is actually going to turn guys on, not think you have a twitch. Fourth, you didn't notice the lettuce in your teeth. This goes with mistake numero 2, because you should have put 2 and 2 together, and realized he was staring at you out of humor, because popular cool guys don't just stare at girls and smle, without making a move. So you should have figured something was ugly or off about you to make him laugh, and you should have excused yourself "to take a call" or a text, and CHECKED THE F*CKING MIRROR!!! Fifth, you brought up holidays. Worse still, you assumed he was a Christian. Now with that said, I'm a Christian and Jesus and God are the absolute best, Jesus died for all of our sins so anybody who doesn't love or AT LEAST RESPECT him, is a retarded selfish jerk. Even the Muslims RESPECT Jesus, they say he was a good prophet. And hell, the muslims try to blow us up! So people on here attacking Jesus and the holidays are dumb hypocrites. Would they die for anybody else? yeah, RIGHT. But yeah, back to #5, from a DATING standpoint, that is not a way to attract a guy (talking about a holiday). And dating-wise, even though Christianity is real good, it's still not a smart idea to ever assume anything, especially religion. The point of dating is to FIND OUT stuff. Assuming makes you look... eh i dont know the word, but its pretty sketchy and its not attractive. maybe too presumptuous? ha idk. ============ Your sixth and final mistake was ever bringing up religion during the dating game. Let me explain exactly WHY. First of all, it is divisive and awkward to talk about. This always creates problems, even most Christians have differing beliefs on small stuff (is the bible to be taken literally or not), etc. etc. Secondly, bringing up religion REMINDS HIM THAT THERE IS AN AFTERLIFE, AND THAT SOME SORT OF GOD IS POSSIBLY GOING TO BE JUDGING HIM IN THE AFTERLIFE!!! And if you are flirting, what does that equate to in a GUYS MIND? ...Premarital making out, premarital sex, lustful thoughts. ALL OF THOSE ARE SINFUL IN NATURE, ACCORDING TO RELIGION! So basically, you are REMINDING HIM that he is likely to be judged by God if he wants to flirt with you! NOT THE BEST IDEA. When dating, I hate to say this cuz it is offensive to God, BUT WHEN YOU ARE DATING YOU WANT TO LEAVE GOD OUT OF THE PICTURE, BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO AREN'T CONSCIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT MORALS ARE MORE LIKELY TO GO FARTHER, BOTH RELATIONSHIP-WISE AND ALSO SEXUALLY!!! ============= Hope you fools learned a lesson... especially the OP. Damn that was the saddest day in dating history I'v ever heard of. I made an account specifically for this question! That's how bad it was.
um ok correction to number 4 and all who think that a man would not date a friends sister. If his sister was hot I'd totally date her lol. Also seriously dont worry about it. Most of the time girls think that guys make a big deal about something that really isn't a big deal. He probably just said it to let you know not that it actually bothered him lol. But seriously make a move on me haha i wouldnt care about a piece of lettuce.
what kind of pickup line is "christmas or easter"?
Guys, give her a break with the poor choice of flirting method. From the sound of the FML, she's a kid, probably a very young teen and is just starting to try and flirt etc. (And I don't mean that because it sounds immature or anything, it's just that it has that cute and innocent vibe that really comes out from when girls are trying their first flirting attempts. *embarrassing memories of her own youth come back* XD) Good thing it was just the brother's friend and not some creepy weirdo outside.

Is that how you define "making a move"? By asking about holiday preferance? That right there is a fail. And for the record, it's damn creepy when people batt their eyes; damn creepy.
wow. i dont know about you guys, but when i'm trying to score with a guy i ask him about his favourite holiday. they all think its so hot. xD
