Today, after months of being pestered to do so, I finally read the first Harry Potter book. I hated it. Upon hearing this, my girlfriend posted the fact on Facebook, where I immediately received tons of abuse and eventual shunning by my friends, family, and coworkers. My girlfriend just laughed. FML

Could have been worse, could have been twilight

So you're getting shunned for having an opinion of your own? Shit, the people you know are assholes!

I'm actually relieved to see somebody else like this. Personally, I'm not a big Harry Potter fan myself. *Recieves insults*

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but won't go and bash someone who dislike it. Your folks have got issues.

People are idiots - everybody has different tastes. ... we should really nuke the planet.

Undeserved. /: . Personally I loved reading Harry Potter, but it obviously can't be for EVERYONE. I mean, props to you for actually reading it, right?

You don't deserve that, at least you read it before deciding. The only people I think who should have that type of abuse thrown at them for not liking Harry Potter are the people who don't like it but refuse to try because "it's witchcraft and against the bible". I commend you for trying it first before deciding you don't like it instead of letting ignorance and blind faith guide your opinions.

Hey bubba, no worries. I don't like them either. They're over-hyped, and the people who began to get on your case are just nutters. (No offense to your girlfriend.)

Hey it could be worse. It could've been 50 Shades or Twilight.

I liked Harry Potter alot. That being said, you shouldn't be forced into reading it. Lots and lots of butthurt people on this site, just like anywhere though. Good for you, not giving into peer pressure to say you like something.
