Today, I came home to find my dad crying. Turns out my parents are getting divorced because my mom had an affair. With a teacher at my school. A female teacher. And the school isn't going to fire her because she's a good teacher. Every day at school I'm going to have to see her. FML

Why should the school board fire her? It's the teacher's private life and she's not having an affair with one of the students, so why should it be a problem at school? It's gonna be awkward for you and I understand that you must be really upset about it, but you not liking her shouldn't be a reason for her to lose her job.

Go to tge school board and administrator of the school on what grounds? "My teacher is having a personal life" Who cares if its with a parent. Parents and teachers date all the time. And last I checked breaking up a marrage is not aginst the law.

Exactly what I was thinking, actually. But still, FYL because of her being your teacher anyway. I'd probably ask to transfer classes, at the very least. Man, what a bitch. "I'm going to have an affair with my student's mother and get their parents divorced!" Doesn't sound like such a good teacher to me, personally.

That doesn't make sense at all. Why would the school administration fire a teacher for having an affair with YOUR mom. They aren't suppose to dig deep into the personal lives. I agree with #15. I doubt this is even real.

Or simply because she wanted her to be. I wouldn't want to have that teacher around all the time, either. People think rash things in odd situations. Or perhaps she is just not that clever; either or.

Because people assume teachers are all perfect and moral, and the fact that she broke up a marriage, well, not so much good. People tend to forget teachers are just human beings like everyone else.

But the op said that the teacher isn't being fired "because she's a good teacher". This would imply that the administration considered it, or that the op *thinks* they did. This is either fake or the OP is just plain stupid. I get that the situation would be horrible...but the teacher being fired, or of that being a possibility, makes no sense.

Why would they fire her? It's her personnal life and has NOTHING to do with her professionnal one. Your mom isn't her student or another teacher. It might suck, but you're just gonna have to deal with it.
