All dog get worms sooner or later. That why taking him to the vet you can get the pills to get rid of them for a couple of months. They will return though.

He could have clogged anal glands and not worms. Clogged anal glands need to be expressed

You should be working puppies every 2 weeks until 12 w old, then monthly until 6m and 3 monthly thereafter With a quality product. And on flea prevention as a specific type of tapeworm is spread by fleas + Also not feeding offal/ poor quality raw meat. Anal glands should be checked too.
