IT's a boy? wow. ydi.
#30: He was probably using "it's a boy" in the general way that it's used for celebrations and stuff. Haven't you ever seen a banner saying "It's a boy!" I love how you say YDI strictly for that. ******* dumbass. I highly doubt he considers his child an "it."
Lol...I agree with #46, plus "He's a boy" would be kind of redundant.
"It" is the generally accepted term in that situation. Before a child is born/assigned a gender at an ultrasound, they are an androgynous "it." So using the phrase "it's a boy" clears up the fact that what once was an unknown gender or "it" now has an assigned gender of male. Get it?
ASSIGNED a gender at ultrasound? They don't assign a gender, they tell you the gender based on if they see a penis or a ******! And yes, "It's a ____" is a perfectly acceptable way of telling someone the baby's sex.
To my knowledge "assigned" is the correct term for it. *shrugs* Words are words and the meaning was still behind it.
How do you know it's even yours? Did she send you a message/write it on your wall? Or was her status that said she had this baby say that it was yours? Even if you were together a few months ago, she could have been screwing around it might not be yours which could be why you didn't know. Either way YDI for getting on FML instead of going to figure out the situation with a baby that could possibly be your son.
Maybe he was multitasking? It's not too hard to have more than one web page open... Anyway, I too wonder how he knows it's his. Maybe she messaged him...
ydi for breaking up with your girlfriend after she told you she was pregnant. idk. I'm half-troll. sometimes troll comments and sometimes not. :/
You are a moron and so is the OP. NO ONE knows if he is the father, perhaps not even the mother. Your imagination is in spasms. Perhaps she dumped him. The baby is the victim... He for sure had nothing to do with this mess.
ya he "had nothing to do with this mess" except, you know, sticking his pecker in some girl likely without protection. But really, the girl who went through 9 months of pregnancy alone, labour and birth without him and the fear of raising a child alone as well is a high likelyhood of a life of poverty, shes fine. Its really the op thats the victim for finding out via fb.
Did you read the comment at all? FarSide was referring to the baby being the victim.
wtf it could have been a one nite stand or she could have gotten pregnant and no thought he was fatger material and left him or something its not his fault the mom didnt tell him!
father***
I really don't get it. OH! I GET IT NOW. Thank you #33! But I have to disagree with that she told him. They probably broke up and didn't talk. So she didn't tell him. I dunno though, I could be wrong. I don't know what to say about this one because I don't know the whole situation. it could be YDI or FYL....
I don't think this was written very well. It leaves a lot of THINKING on OUR part. For shame, OP! Why would you do that to us.. 1. They are still together and that's how he found out that he missed the birth. 2. Did she not tell him she was pregnant, and that's how he found out? 3. Did she tell him and not want him to see her or the baby and he was forced to use FB instead? I hate these "what if" FML's. Make them CLEAR!
Is it really that hard to think?
haha yeah it's not nosey if they're inviting us into their problems by posting on a popular worldwide website. I just think if FML's are to be posted they should be clear and to the point. This ones a little fuzzy is all and hard to decide whether it's a FYL or YDI. The first sentence doesn't even make sense. "Today, I found out I HAD my first born child." as if the OP gave birth to it but just found out... should be something like "Today, I found out that my first child was born." much more clear ;) & lol at Zombie, yes sometimes with the amount of Mary Jane I smoke it can be hard to think ;D
yeah thats what i thought...

The way this FML is worded, it sounds like the OP is a girl, and she didn't realize a child came out of her ******
I wonder how many people liked it.
