Today, I got a computer. When I opened it, I found out that my dad had made himself the administrator. He made it so everything shut off after 11 o'clock, and made it so I couldn't download anything without his password. FML

Just download tons of horse **** on his computer. When he asks why, tell him that for some reason, you couldn't download anything on yours so you used his instead. :D

Ask your computer expert friend to format it and let you be the admin... how old are you?

My dad did the same thing to my family when he bought our new computer. The only difference is that I figured out his password when I was 14 and have been able to access the internet at all times and download whatever I want since then.

i love all the advice on here lol. you guys are awesome.

That's the strangest thing ever, cause you are a graduate. What if you have to access something for a class in the night. Parents who do this are NOT teaching kids responsibility.

My parents did it too. They forgot their password. FOL.

How old are you? If your father bought you a laptop, it sounds like you're young enough that he is probably well within his rights to restrict your time on it. If you're old enough that this should be unacceptable, buy your own computer and stop whining!

wow....its a little rediculious how not tech savvy everyone is. I mean yeah people know how to use em, but it astonoshing how people know absolutley nothing about the actual computer themselves. No matter what computer it is you can wipe the hard drive, this is call Re-Formating (windows/mac has already been formated on it so thats with the Re is there). Then you just re-install whatever copy of windows was on your computer. The CD usually comes with it, you can also go to the Microsoft/Apple website to get an authorization to download it if you don't have the cd. This usually jsut requires the laptop #/id which they should tell you where it is. Once you have installed a Windows/Mac operating system you simply have to create your own name, make a password, and make it administrator.

That sucks! I wouldn't even want to use the computer if there were restrictions like that on the computer.

Yeah #236, I know that is an option, but don't we have to reinstall all our programs?
