Today, I joined a dating website and spent all day filling out and improving my profile. My first match is a guy who relentlessly tried to date me for all 4 years of high school. Now he just has more reasons to tell me how much we're meant to be. We're a 97% match. FML

why don't you just give him a chance? at least get to know him if you haven't yet.

You're lonely enough to join a dating website; no one is below your standards now. The only lower you could possibly sink now is a Craigslist personal.

YDI for being that pathetic that you have to go on a dating website. That guy sounds like a creeper.

Just out of interest, what's the difference between using a website to find someone, and , I don't know, randomly bumping into someone at a venue usually frequented by people looking to get drunk?

Just give him a chance! It wouldn't kill you to try. For all you know, you'd be perfect for each other

Yes! How dare people have standards and look for a real spark in their partner, rather than blindly accepting advice from dating website! MAKES ME SO MAD!!

"How did you two meet?" "Oh, he stalked me relentlessly, but then I found out we had a 97% compatability rate on the interwebs!" "That's great! You can't argue with a computer generated (Probably random) number, amirite?" "Nope, but it can get a bit weird when I wake up and catch him smelling my underwear though."

Just give him a chance. Tell him nicely not to come on to strong, I don't see what the big deal is here. Usually the guys who act like him are the sweetest ones.

YDI for spending all day on your dating site profile. FYL for not knowing much about guys. (FML for not knowing much about girls.) Talk to him. Figure out if he's a creepy guy, or just a shy guy. If the latter, you should give him a chance, unless you want to write more FMLs about being cheated on, or dumped. What I mean* is that if he's a shy guy, and has been into you for years, he won't cheat on you or dump you, so you won't provide any drama for us to read here. * sadly, I have to spell it out, because people on the interwebs can't read and think at the same time** ** probably because they're chewing gum as well

That was seriously one of the best comments ever.
