I'm sorry, but I can't get over the fact that you'd leave your car running while you go into the store. Do you want it to get stolen? You might was well just be handing the keys to a complete stranger...
Ever heard of remote start?
You're implying that everyone has the money to have those. I'm sorry I'm not as wealthy and all-knowing as you guys.
but it was in comments ABOVE yours, you could have read it
So I'm naturally supposed to read through two pages of comments before posting my own? Who has time for that?
Well, today here a dog was actually dying after being left in a car under the sun. Someone called the police and they smashed the glass rescuing the poor dog, who had collapsed. And a few weeks ago, a two year old CHILD died after being "forgotten" in the car by his dad.
It's one thing for a police officer to smash a car's window; it's quite another for a random citizen to take it upon herself to do so. If she really believed that the dog was in mortal danger, she should have called the police and left it in their hands.
Are you nuts? The dog could have left the country with your car!
Strange how people turn superman or women for a Dogg but helping other humans lacks just look at WSHH#Smh
Yes, she shouldn't have been the one to smash the window because if she smashed the wrong one then the dog could get cut by glass. Want to know what the cops would have done if she called them? They would have smashed the window to get the dog out. It IS seen as inhumane and animal cruelty in some states. I had a car that was hard to hear the ac running once you stepped out and closed the doors. Maybe she didn't hear it and thought the dog had just been left in the car while it was running with the windows up. It takes 10 minutes or less for heatstroke in a dog and the inside of a car heats up quickly even with cracks in the windows. She may have been worried about that if she didn't hear the ac.
Even in your situation, she should have seen the dog was under no physical distress and waited for a few minutes to confront OP about it. And even IF the dog seemed agitated or in distress, it doesn't mean she can take the law into her own hands and intervene. If she was truly concerned, she should have contacted and waited for the police.
This reminds me of an episode of malcolm in the middle
I bet that lady thinks PETA is a nice organization full of rational people.
Normally I be like she was right but that's if the car was off since you had the car on so the dog wouldn't suffer this woman needs to be charged for any damage she caused to your car
she was probably trying to steal the dog and be an even bigger jerk and ruin your car

Sue her for damages and call the police!
Lol she really thought she was saving the dog.
