WTF is wrong with YOU?! Is it young? Yes, but who the hell are you to pass judgments on people just because of their age? For all you know they have been dating since they were 11. Just because YOU aren't ready for marriage doesn't mean other people aren't. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being married at 21.

why is everyone so surprised/shocked at someone being married at 21? Maybe he knocked her up, and did the right thing as a man and married her. I mean, getting married at 21 is certainly not nearly as controversial as marrying off your 15-16-17 year old daughters as was done in centuries past...

married at 17? that's sick and wrong, and illegal in some places. my cousin got engaged at 18 but she and her fiance are both in college and they're waiting to get married until they both have a stable idea on what they want to do with their lives. so 21 is not that young because MOST people are mature by that age, so shut up to the people that don't agree.

I have yet to find a place where it is illegal to get married at 17. It is not sick and wrong. At all. I've said countless times I'm IN nursing school [in other words currently.] My husband is training to be an EMT. I graduated HS second in my class. I had a child, took care of her, got a job, and went to school. People have been having children and getting married as young as 12 since people have been around. Hell, at one point, you were lucky if you lived past 25. So, tell me, how is it sick and wrong for me to have been married for 4 years, have 2 children, be going to NURSING SCHOOL, have a husband in EMT training? In no way is it sick, wrong, or illegal. At all. BOTH my parents gave consent for me to marry, though, because of my child, I didn't need the consent from a parent at all. Teens, preteens, young ADULTS, are ALL a lot smarter than people give credit for. Sure, I've done some dumb ass shit when I was younger but I stayed in school, I got good grades and when I made a mistake I owned up to it and took responsibility for my actions. A lot of teen mothers don't raise their children, especially while going to school. You all want to bash me for having a child and getting married so young but hey, at least I had the guts to stick around and raise my child. At least I didn't marry for some dumbass reason like a lot of people my age. So many marry simply because they get pregnant or they feel they have to marry someone. I at least married for love, I married for comfort of knowing no matter what he will be there for me, and for wanting to be with him for the rest of my life. So again, bash me all you want for being a mother and wife, I wouldn't change my life for anything in the world.

Maybe something bad happened to the OP that makes him afraid of the dark and what ever it was he equates to the need to defend him self from happening again. So jump out at him in the dark = punch in the face. You would think you wife knew that. And why not be married at 21 it worked for our grandparents generation and think about it the divorce rate was a LOT lower maybe they were on to something. I hope your wife is ok and she knows not to startle you in the dark.
