Today, I sat to the right of a girl I really like. I passed her a note asking her to homecoming. She read it, then hurriedly passed it to a hideous girl sitting on her left, who said yes, then hugged me. FML

Today, I was going to ask this girl I love to homecoming. I set up a scavenger hunt, and my friend led her through it. At the end of the scavenger hunt I had a note that said, "Homecoming?" She said yes and hugged my friend. When I told her it was me who was asking, she laughed and said no. FML

so its wrong to think a girl is unattractive? so do you say "yes" to every guy who asks you out, and you wouldn't dare call a guy ugly or unattractive? I hate this double standard where whiny fat girls say "ALL WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL HOW DARE YOU NOT SAY YES!!" but have no problem gossiping about the ugly guy that just tried to ask your friend out. sorry but this isn't a perfect world of flowers and butterflies and unicorns where every girl is a princess.

Meh, it's only one night. Give the girl who said yes a good memory in a time in her life in a time in her life when she's probably very insecure. Be nice to her. Don't tell her she wasn't the intended date. You might find that she's really fun to hang around with and you'll end up being good friends. You can always try your luck on the girl you like some other time. And next time, ask her to her face.

for all you know, the girl you wanted to ask out didn't know the note was for her since you obviously didn't address it to her or else the "hideous girl" would have known the note wasn't meant for her. but if she did, that's a really clever but bitchy way to reject someone. kudos to the pretty girl

Ok OP, In the event that this happened because you didnt have the guts to ask the girl you wanted to her face, then let me tell you, you got rejected simply for that reason, even if not in this case, in every past and future case. Look, you dont NEED all the confidence in the world, dude...you just gotta LOOK like you've got all the confidence in the world, makes all the difference. In this case, youre seeing a lot of "take the other girl out" because its the right thing to do, and its good advice. Even if you dont like her, think of the fact that you were reaching for a good homecoming memory, the least you can do for your epic fail is man up and give her one.
