I'm curious how exactly you expected this to play out? Here's how I see it. Dating goes through many phases as you grow older and unfortunately for most of us we don't pass through each phase until after we've hit some kind of rejection like you just did [be thankful!] It sounds to me, based on the way this story played out, that you're either extremely inexperienced romantically or you're in High School [which seems more likely]. Dating successful 99% of the time doesn't work the way you see it in the movies. You can't just go up to somebody, profess your love and expect them to reciprocate. You've been building up these fantasies and ideals about this guy for 2 years and yet he either barely knows you or has just thought of you as a friend for those 2 years. . .Either he sincerely has no romantic feelings for you or you completely scared him by going to far too quickly. Dating is a slow process that doesn't involve running up to people, long term crush or not, and profess your undying love before asking them out. Learn to take it slow and enjoy the ride. Girl or Guy I'll give you the same advice I gave the other guy who had a similar FML recently. . If you want something you need to go for it quickly so that if you do get rejected you haven't invested enough time to have a romantic fantasy to be crushed.
