Today, I took my driving test. As I was about to turn at a green light, a car sped toward us from the other direction, running a red light. My instructor failed me because I stopped to avoid getting rammed. Apparently I should have kept going, because it was my right of way. FML

And this is when you report him and say "you failed, at keeping a job"

I have a feeling you exaggerated the whole thing about the other car almost hitting you, and you just simply freaked out for no reason and slammed the breaks in the middle of the intersection.

I have a feeling you exaggerated the whole thing about OP exaggerating, and you just simply freaked out for no reason and accused OP in the middle of the comments section.

I personally feel that them being cautious of the other driver was better than having to slam on just as they were going to be hit. Better to be safe than be sorry. Learning to drive is difficult with situations such as these. As someone has said before you're damned if you and you're damned if you don't!

You can't even go at a green light ? I'd fail you to

...Not when you see a car gun straight through the intersection you can't. Just because you have the right of way doesn't mean that's the only thing that matters. To be a good (and safe) driver, you have to pay close attention to your surroundings.

In some states you can be charged with failure to prevent a collision.................

I wonder if any of the other instructors would have agreed. Either way good for you OP for paying attention and I hope you get a more sensible instructor next time.

Better wrong than dead or in the hospital...

You are such a lier.. They can't fail you just for that one incident.. They give you so many points an if you lose so much then they fail you.. Nice excuse though

wrong. there are things that are grounds for an automatic fail. i took a test i got automatically failed for because somebody jaywalked in front of my car just as i was gunna start driving through the intersection. i stopped so i wouldnt run him over, bam. automatic fail. instructor told me the jaywalker was doing illegal and i had right of way so i should have kept going. cuz running over a pedestrian is apparently a-ok if you're doing a road test.

I read in a driving pamphlet that no one had the right of way

Your instructor was wrong. You were right. Report him.
