Today, I was playing in a basketball game and blocked this kid's shot. I was really pumped up about it until I realized the kid had cerebral palsy and the coach put him on the team because he really wanted to be on at least one team in his life. FML

Today, I had a basketball game against our rivals. Since the starting guard had a broken ankle, I felt happy that I could finally get playing time and prove that I'm good. Instead I had to run the scoreboard for the game, because the scoreboard guy was absent. FML

Today, I was playing basketball in our company gym. I took a shot from half court, and at that exact moment, an executive walked into the gym with an important potential client. My shot bounced off the side of the backboard, off some bleachers, and right into the client's head. FML

Today, after playing on the same basketball team for eight years with the same coach, he kicked me off the team to make room for my younger brother, who I taught to play basketball in the first place. FML

Today, while playing badminton at school, I got an opponent who is mentally handicapped. Since I'm terrible at the game, I guess the teacher assumed it would be a good match. I won the match, my first victory ever. My teacher accused me of cheating to humiliate him. FML

Today, during a soccer game, some utter moron got the bright idea of trying to score a goal from his side of the field. I sarcastically made a big show of just barely stopping the ball, and nailed it off to the side. The ball hit a kid so hard in the head that he had to go to the hospital. FML

Today, my baseball team had a game and one of our best players was injured sliding into first. I'm pretty fast so when the coach called my name I grabbed a helmet assuming it was finally my chance to get in the game. Turns out he just wanted me to get ice. The entire team couldn't stop laughing. FML

You shouldn't feel bad, you didn't know and I don't see how YDI at all. Plus, the kid was probably happy everyone wasn't just going to let him do whatever.

Your remorse shows your humility. Don't worry about it, it happens. One time I was at a party, and this one guy who had a drink was wobbling all over the place, and his speech was terribly slurred. This guy was more intoxicated than anyone I had ever seen, so I turn to my best friend and said "Dude, this guy is SOOOOO f***ed up, this is hilarious!" My friend shakes his head and says "No dude, that's Phil. He is mentally and physically disabled".

i agree with 7 but i still feel a lot of sympathy for the kid. Like you have to see it from both sides the kid might have been upset about his CP that day and blocking that shot and getting embarrased might have sucked for him. But then again if he wanted to fit in and he experienced what happens to a lot of people who are short who play basketball and that might have made him feel welcome. All in all, i dont think this an fml but still i would talk to the kid you know maybe become friends with him? i mean sometimes you find a reallly good friend in someone you woudnt expect to find it in. just think about that.
