Today, I was trying to work out, and couldn't even complete an exercise regime meant for 50-year-olds. I'm 24. FML

The fact that you're even trying to exercise already puts you ahead of most people.

That's because you have to wait until you're 50 in order to do it.

That's what practice is for, man. Keep going, you'll get better

Keep going...build up to it...cut them in smaller numbers if needed

It's just a start. Keep trying and you will be better in no time :)

Can't/couldn't are just excuses that your brain makes up. Of course nobody enjoys being winded and feeling their muscles burn but it's the reason getting fit requires serious commitment.

But different people have different levels of ability, and if you are new to fitness, you may not be able to do a routine meant for someone who has been active longer. Most of the time I have failed in the past because I tried too much too fast, it wasn't until I started in with a personal trainer and they taught me to start at my level and move up from there, that I actually succeeded. So it may be a matter of can't/couldn't because they are physically unable to do what they are attempting to do, and need to build up to it.

I went running yesterday and my goal was one lap nonstop. Things did not go according to plan

Just keep doing what you can do, and push yourself further every day. Just make yourself do it EVERY DAY. It doesn't matter if you're tired or you don't want to, make yourself do it anyway.

You just have to keep trying! When I first started exercising I could barely cycle fore 15 minutes, and now I can go for hours!

Ask yourself one question, regardless of what level you think you should be performing at. "Did I do more than I did yesterday?" Rome wasn't built in a day, my friend. Keep at it, and the stamina will come.
