I have a firearms licence in both New Zealand and Australia, there are around 35,000 licenced firearms in New South Wales alone, so theres a pretty high chance a gun might have been stolen and used in the incident :

Clumsiness doesn't often get you shot. It's clumsy when you shoot yourself, though, but he didn't shoot himself. So to answer your question: No, not much. :)
