Today, my 15-year-old son got so enraged at a fly that kept harassing him, that he ended up slapping himself in the face as it flew by him. This caused him to fall out of his chair, at which point he broke down into a mess of tears, humiliating me in front of everyone. FML

Fail. Everyone makes mistakes though.

if your son reacted that strongly, he may have a mild mental disablilty, such as asburgers(sp?) or mild spectrum autism. Plus, he's going through puberty. try not being so hard on him op...

Ill tempered and a crybaby ? This is our future? I hope not. .

Humiliating YOU? Poor kid needs a better parent.

This is where a trusty electric bug swatter comes in handy. No need to squish, and you would have to be legally blind not to be able to smack it in the air with a tennis racquet sized device. Stun, laugh, and place in a friends drink. Then laugh some more.

Which part of that humiliated you? The him crying part, or the him hurting himself part, or the him not being able to kill a fly? Because any way I look at it none of that should be humiliating to YOU ya jerk. Poor kid.

I think you have a 15 year old daughter

Thats pent up anger. Get him evaluated

I guess I can kind of understand though, there's always that ONE fly that doesn't leave you alone.
