This happens quite often. My old job refused to invest in new escalators but they broke every month. My counter was right next to them and I would constantly get asked how to get upstairs. Um, walk up?

Actually using the key isn't so simple when the clicker doesn't work. My jeep sets the alarm off if I use the key to get in. Then I have to turn it on quick to make it stop. And some times it doesn't. Just depends on the car
Same here. I found out the hard way when the batteries were dying in my clicker. I unlocked the door manually and the alarm went off. I had to scramble to put batteries back in the clicker to turn it off (I took them out because the remote beeps when the batteries are low and I was in class).
That is life these days, LOL
