Today, my dad took my car keys off my keychain and hid them from me. His reasoning was, "I don't want you to be driving during the winter." Guess who has to walk ten miles a day to work, through the New England snow. FML

You should reason with him. That sounds quite a bit more dangerous than driving in the snow.

Make him walk 10 miles in the snow and cold one day and see how he likes it.

you know there is not really any snow in mass atm, the walk sucks but don't fake having to trudge through non existing snow. phony.

As a fellow New Englander, what the hell!!

Also I'm in New Hampshire, the wind is killer enough.

I enjoy New England in the fall but their roads are awful. I wouldn't want any kids of mine driving on them in the winter either! But I would never make them walk more than one mile. Never alongside a road with only a ditch or embankment either. We would figure out something reasonable. For that aspect I feel for you OP. But He shouldn't have to hide anything to make you respect his rules. That shows a lack of maturity in itself. As long as your in his care his rules take first priority. I feel like there is more to this story for the dad to seem so extreme. Meanwhile get a bus pass or ride share w someone and pay in for some gas.

I'm im New England and we have 0 snow XD
