Today, my dad took my car keys off my keychain and hid them from me. His reasoning was, "I don't want you to be driving during the winter." Guess who has to walk ten miles a day to work, through the New England snow. FML

You should reason with him. That sounds quite a bit more dangerous than driving in the snow.

Make him walk 10 miles in the snow and cold one day and see how he likes it.

@29 I'm glad you can afford to do that every day, but most people can't.

you've obviously never been to New Hampshire. busses are not an option.

Closest bus stop to my house is almost an hours walk. I live in Nashua.

I feel like we have the same dad. Remind him that if he doesn't allow you to drive in the winter, then you'll never learn how.

If you are over 18 and your father took your car keys and you actually let him take them that is a problem in and of itself.

I don't think OP knew they'd been taken until after it happened.

Better go find them tennisrackets to tie under your shoes then :p

When I was your age I had to walk 3 miles to school every day uphill both ways through 5 feet of snow

I get so annoyed with that kind of logic. So just because you had to do something that was hard, doesn't mean that OP's situation isn't hard for them..

How is it uphill both ways? What goes up must come down surely? Your comment makes no sense.

There's a valley in the middle so you do have to make an uphill trip both ways. It's just that there's also a downhill trip.

What New England snow lmao it hasn't snowed here all winter
