Today, my elderly neighbour was having some kind of house party. It was incredibly loud, so I went and asked if he could tone it down a little. He responded by grabbing a deck chair, smacking me with it, then chasing me back to my house, all while his guests cheered him on. FML

I love the fact that it's your elderly neighbor having this kickass party. I bet you wouldn't be complaining if you had been invited =P

Don't forgot that you can always contact your local PD and get them to charge that guy's old ass with assault and battery. If someone physically harms you, don't take it lightly!

Did you never see the Taco Bell Super Bowl commercial? Old people can get wild

Call the cops...for more than one reason...abuse and noise...

People usually don't like being told to do something, especially if it's negative in context or shows rebellion against something the instigator was doing. In this case - yes, you should file a police report. As for the guests, some, if not most were probably drunk and knowing drunk people, as long as the alcohol keeps flowing, they'll be willing to cheer on any unlawful act. Also, you did deserve it a little bit for not bringing someone with you. It's a loud, rowdy house party and if challenged as they were, things were bound to get somewhat out of control, no matter if you rang the doorbell, or the average joe down the street. If you had someone with you, the events probably would have gone down differently, but nevertheless, FYL.

That's what you get for being a partypooper

Ya know I'm going to have to side with the elderly on this one, I think it's great to see them full of life and still having fun. Just because you reach a certain age doesn't mean you can't have fun!!!

It does mean you can still show some respect when someone asks you to quiet down. What if OP had a sleeping child that they JUST put down? What if they had a big presentation the next day and needed sleep? What if OP now resents the person so much that when they fall and can't get up OP refuses to help and just leaves them there to die because **** them? Common courtesy. It's not like OP asked them to gtfo and go lay down.
