1. A gas mask wouldn't be helpful without the suit, as you can absorb radiation through your skin. 2. Potassium Iodide only protects against radioisotopes of iodine, which the nuclear plants in Japan weren't using. 3. If she is taking more than 130mg a day and she is, she will severely damage her thyroid.
