Today, my little girl spoke her first word. It was ''Daddy''. Daddy left before she was born and she has never met him before. FML

Most children will say Da-Da first. It isn't necessarily associated with Daddy. Sorry about the sperm donor, though.

it doesn't have to do anything with a dad not being there, daddy is usually the first word for babies..

I seriously doubt she knew what she was saying.

Its not about the baby not understanding what she said. Its about the hurt left behind from some deadbeat dad that doesn't have a part in his daughter's life. *excuse the 'deatbeat' part if he is in the military and CAN'T have a relationship with her.

However, the tone of the fml implies that "daddy" split & hasn't had a part in her life other than her conception. Regardless of what issues the parents may have with each other he can't use that as an excuse to not be there so that she HAS someone to call daddy and that deserves the title. Sry. FYL
